EU funding for sustainable mobility: project to develop a regional integrated transport strategy of the Ljubljana urban region approved
SLOVENIA, January 15 - The project aims to develop a regional integrated transport strategy for the Ljubljana urban region (with the acronym RCPS LUR), which will guide the development of a sustainable transport system. The strategy will define priorities for regional projects to be co-financed from the state budget.
The main long-term objectives of the project are to:
- improve the quality of life in an attractive, green, and connected community,
- reduce pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions from transport,
- promote a healthier and more active population,
- ensure an accessible transport system that supports social inclusion,
- strengthen the regional economy in the Ljubljana urban region,
- improve safety for all road users,
- enhance access to basic services and activities.
The total amount of eligible project costs stands at EUR 150,000. The public contribution of EUR 120,000 consists of an EU contribution of EUR 102,000 and a national contribution of EUR 18,000.
The project will be implemented within the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under the priority Sustainable (cross-)regional mobility and connectivity.
